Network & Security Architecture
25+ years designing enterprise networks, SD-WAN & SASE deployments, and cloud security solutions. I help organisations cut through complexity and make confident technology decisions.
What I do
End-to-end design and deployment of SD-WAN and SASE solutions — converging networking and security into a single cloud-delivered framework. Hands-on experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, Cisco Viptela, and VMware VeloCloud, integrated with AWS and Azure.
Pragmatic security strategy for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Risk assessment, architecture review, and roadmap development aligned to business goals.
Scalable, resilient network architecture for enterprise customers. From requirements gathering through proof-of-concept to full operational handover.
Board and leadership-level advisory on technology direction, vendor selection, and infrastructure investment — grounded in 25 years of real-world delivery.
Lead and manage large-scale technology transformations — coordinating across sales, product, and operations teams to ensure outcomes are delivered on time and on spec.
Design, build, and run PoCs that de-risk investment decisions. Performance modelling, scalability testing, and business continuity validation before you commit.
About
I'm an experienced technical design architect and enterprise consultant based in Ireland. For over two decades I've worked with some of the most demanding organisations in Ireland and the UK, translating complex business needs into networks, security architectures, and cloud solutions that actually work.
My background spans both the deeply technical — CCIE, CCDE, CCSP — and the strategic, with a Master's in Business in Technology and TOGAF certification. That dual perspective means I can sit comfortably in a board room or a data centre, and help bridge the gap between the two.
Whether you need a trusted advisor for a major transformation programme, an independent review of your current architecture, or a clear-eyed technology roadmap, I bring structured thinking, hard-won experience, and a straight-talking approach.
